The mid-bass incorporates a 12″ DAS speaker optimized to deliver great power and confidentiality. A lightweight aluminum voice coil coupled with a new fiberglass-reinforced cone, an optimized magnetic circuit, and a new suspension design contribute significantly to the 12AN4's exceptional performance in terms of distortion, power delivery, and maximum SPL.
High frequency response is provided by a compression driver waveguide assembly developed for the AERO-20.120A. The M-75N compression driver features a powerful neodymium magnet structure, titanium diaphragm and 3″ (75 mm) voice coil. The mounting system has been redesigned with tighter tolerances and a new ring that increases the engine's horsepower capability. The M-75N is mated to a new aluminum waveguide with 120° horizontal coverage without resonance that delivers a natural sound.
The AERO-20.120A is constructed from birch plywood and finished in a black ISO-flex paint that provides excellent protection and durability. Two individual assemblies comprising the high frequency waveguide and a 12″ speaker seat are attached to the front of the cabinet. These assemblies also dissipate heat away from components, improving power compression. Mounted on the rear is the aluminum heatsink that houses the amplifier and related electronics.
A new clamping system offers greater ease of use, allowing selection of angles when stacking on the transport cart. The locking system can be activated to fix the angles between the boxes during the stacking or balancing processes. Secure handling and precise fit are achieved thanks to the AX bracket and its low-profile suspended bar that reduces the space required between the highest attachment point and the top of the die.
